Clin Lab Technologist 4-Hematology
NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a qualified professional to fill this position in the Bronx, NY.
Salary
Base pay range: $114,764.00/yr – $114,764.00/yr
Responsibilities
Perform routine, complex, and specialized clinical laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosis and treatment on submitted specimens.
Enter raw data from instruments, generate final results, and maintain records on report forms, in record books, and in electronic systems.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and conduct quality control procedures.
Participate in internal and external quality control and proficiency testing programs.
Prepare laboratory packages, labels, media, reagents, and controls to ensure adequate supply.
Prepare reports, make entries on charts, and maintain data and records on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Supervise, direct, train, schedule, and evaluate personnel in one or more laboratory divisions.
Assist with complex analyses and laboratory research programs.
Maintain quality assurance programs and develop policies and procedures.
Prepare correspondence, narrative, and statistical reports as needed.
Represent the health care system in court and provide expert testimony on laboratory findings.
Assist in preparation of annual budget requests and interview applicants for laboratory posts.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist issued by the NYSED.
Additional Requirements
For appointment to Levels IV and V, meet the laboratory supervisor qualification requirements in Title 10, Section 58‑1.4 of the New York Public Health Law.
Qualifying experience is not limited to New York State.
Licensed or permitted cytotechnologists or histotechnologists may be assigned work in a discipline appropriate to their license; licensed clinical laboratory technologists may be assigned work in all laboratory specialties.
