Student Sonographer Tech - Echo-Vascular Lab- PRN
Under direct supervision, performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.
Essential Responsibilities
Assists in performing ultrasound examinations of patients using various techniques and equipment common to ultrasound.
Prepares patient for examination.
Under immediate supervision, conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment by moving scanner over specified body area and adjusting equipment in accordance with established clinical practice standards, guidelines and protocols.
Maintains department records, reports and files.
Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies and ensures exam room is clean and ready for the next patient.
General Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Currently enrolled in good standing in a Sonographer training program.
Experience:
N/A
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of ultrasound diagnostic procedures. Ability to operate ultrasound equipment. Ability in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients and other staff members; in effective communications both verbally and in writing.
