Summary
Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to float between six (6) EHCC locations. This position is three 12-hour shifts / 36 hours weekly, with a rotating 4-hour shift on Saturday. The Advanced Practice Provider shall provide necessary and appropriate urgent care services, within the scope of the Advanced Practice Provider's training and experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care
Continuously enhance clinical knowledge
Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
Complete documentation, billing, and coding as required by healthcare regulations and standards
Attend staff meetings, training, and continuing education as required
Treat Urgent Care presentations such as Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.
Perform foreign body removal
Laceration repair and suturing skills
Abscess incision & drainage
Diagnose, treat, and splint fractures
Obtain DOT Certification within 30 days
Preferred experience: professional examination such as Firefighter’s physical
Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Worker’s Compensation experience preferred
Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure
Minimum 3 years of post-licensing experience working independently in family medicine, urgent care clinics, or a combination
Graduate of an accredited APRN, NP, or PA program
