Job Overview USPI Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio is seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Tech/Scientist to join our team. We have 20 private suites and 5 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Bariatric, Orthopedic, General, Neuro/Spine, ENT, Pain, Urology.
Job Summary The MLS/MT provides knowledge regarding all laboratory testing within the scope of services. Develop policies and procedures to comply with CLIA and The Joint Commission requirements. Analyze data and coordinate development of reports for Medical Director review and approval.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science with at least one year of experience in a hospital laboratory.
Or associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology program with at least two years’ experience in a hospital laboratory.
Or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accredited laboratory.
Certification by one of the following accrediting agencies: MT/MLS (ASCP) or categorical, MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP).
CPR Required.
Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies/standards.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to detect color and color changes.
