Primary Purpose The Special Events Service Technician operates a company service truck to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms or holding tanks at various event locations. The position also involves basic pick‑up and delivery of units, as well as installation and removal of temporary fences. Workdays are Thursday–Monday. The technician must be willing to travel across the region and support other regions as needed.

This is a seasonal position. Seasonal employees are hired on a temporary basis or for specific assignments lasting less than 180 days and are normally not eligible for full company benefits unless required by law.

Essential Functions

Conduct daily pre‑shift vehicle inspection and report deficiencies to management immediately. Inspect all tools assigned to the truck to ensure safety and proper working condition.

Operate service trucks to and from pre‑designated work sites based on assignment information. Keep the truck clean and fully stocked.

Operate flatbed trucks to deliver or pick up portable restroom units, hand sinks, holding tanks, or containers. Update system and tickets with relevant delivery or pick‑up details.

Operate fence trucks to deliver or pick up fence materials. Act as a point of contact on fence jobs where a crew is assigned to the job/truck and operate fence installation equipment.

Operate tanker/transfer truck to/from the local dump and complete required paperwork.

Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, showers, etc., at various work sites following company servicing guidelines. Notify management of any issues encountered on route.

Unload fence materials and install fence panels following pre‑determined specifications. Locate, measure, and mark positions for placement of panels.

Troubleshoot and address basic repair and maintenance on‑site to avoid disrupting the customer experience. Report all special maintenance requests and equipment replacements in FSL.

Perform pick‑up and delivery of United Site Services units at customer locations in a timely manner according to customer needs.

Strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their pickup and delivery requirements so current and future needs are satisfied.

Work with dispatch to stay updated on service schedule changes and adapt as needed.

Perform all duties safely in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards.

Interact with customers on site to ensure services meet their standards.

Work with Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to provide customer feedback related to service needs and expectations.

Meet with site superintendent or other designated representative to confirm work order.

Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor for additional instructions or changes to work locations.

Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum two years of commercial driving experience.

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class CDL A or B with endorsement, or Class C, D, or E depending on state).

Excellent time‑management, customer service, and communication skills.

Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Repeat the same movements.

See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance.

Speak clearly so customers can understand.

Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion.

Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling.

Lift up to 40 lbs from waist to shoulders.

Lift 30 lbs from floor to head.

Crouch and squat.

Push 100 lbs and pull 100 lbs horizontally.

Salary Range $27.58 – $39.99 / hour

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job‑related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
