Summary
The primary function of the Parts Sales Representative-Outside position is to maximize sales within the assigned territory, call on existing and establish new customers, increase market penetration by selling and developing market strategies to customers in the designated area, and achieve unit goals and gross profit.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the position based on a daily, weekly or annual basis.
Be a liaison between the dealership and the customers, call on garages, jobbers, fleet owners and leasing companies.
Promote the sales of parts and accessories and be an advisor to wholesale and retail customers.
Establish a method of payment on wholesale parts and obtain approval of credit.
Spend time each day in solicitation of new business.
Arrange for and/or conduct shopping surveys of mass merchandising outlets selling fast‑moving, competitive parts.
Train and learn features, advantages and benefits of product.
Keep Parts Manager abreast of marketing and merchandising conditions in the field.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
Five years of sales experience in the truck, commercial equipment sales field.
Ability to operate motor vehicles, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record. Commercial Driver’s License preferred but not required.
Working hours: may require varied shifts, evenings, weekends or extended hours based on sales transactions and operational needs.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules, travel plans and client demands.
Frequent travel, sometimes on short notice, with flexibility in working hours and travel arrangements.
Physical Requirements
Mobility – moving around the repair shop, walking, standing, bending or kneeling to inspect vehicles or equipment.
Vision – good visual acuity for driving, navigating and reading documents.
Hearing – good hearing for effective communication with customers and vendors.
Manual dexterity – handling paperwork and using computers.
Lifting and handling – occasional handling of sales materials, samples or lightweight equipment (up to 30 lbs).
Driving – proficiency in driving, spending long hours on highways, with valid license and clean record.
Communication skills – effective verbal and written communication for customer interaction, technical explanations and negotiation.
