Schedule: Generally a set schedule, 5 days per week; may include one weekend day

Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation / Acute Care
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
for an inpatient rehabilitation contract assignment. This role requires strong acute care experience and the ability to
independently perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
in a radiology setting without direct radiologist supervision. The SLP will support inpatient rehab patients, with potential referrals to skilled nursing and outpatient settings as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
Independently conduct Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in radiology
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for inpatient rehab patients
Provide dysphagia management and patient/family education
Document evaluations and treatments accurately and timely per department standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation and medical teams
Float to another facility if needed based on census and staffing levels

Equipment & Systems
EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) for inpatient documentation
Meditech computerized documentation (inpatient)
Paper documentation for outpatient services
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Speech Therapy experience, preferably in rehab hospital or SNF settings
Demonstrated ability to independently complete MBS studies
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
Licensure & Certifications
Active Hawaii rehabilitation license in Speech Therapy (required by assignment start)
BLS/BCLS required
ASHA certification required
Candidates without an active license must apply upon offer acceptance
Dress Code
Scrubs or professional attire per facility dress code policies
Orientation & Training
EMR documentation training provided
Orientation to rehabilitation department workflows and expectations included
Additional Requirements
Must arrive the Thursday prior to assignment start to complete employee health requirements on Friday
Bilingual skills not required
