Triage Nurse (RN or LPN)
to join their growing team.
As an experienced practitioner, the
Triage Nurse
is responsible for assessing patients, determining the severity of patients' conditions, and prioritizing care based on the urgency of symptoms.
Applicants with Athena EMR experience will be given priority.
Responsibilities
Perform telephone triage, patient education; handle physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions.
Complete paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, etc.
Assess patients and determine priority, referring for emergency care.
Counsel patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level.
Communicate to patients and office coordinators follow‑up appointments, ancillary and/or pre‑operative testing and scheduling needed for patients.
Coordinate ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff.
Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient.
Develop office protocols and training documents.
Report all test results to the patient as directed by the physician.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
State of Illinois Nursing License.
BLS certification.
At least one year of working experience as an RN or LPN.
Athena EMR experience highly preferred.
OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required.
