Senior Director, Field Medical Affairs - West Region The Senior Director, Field Medical Affairs - West Region will provide leadership for medical and scientific engagement with opinion leaders (OLs) across Arcutis' therapeutic portfolio, reporting to the Executive Director, Field Medical, North America. The successful candidate will be accountable for deploying and managing a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) located in the West Region to compliantly engage the scientific community with relevant clinical data and insights important to Arcutis. This candidate will also ensure appropriate clinical and scientific collaboration with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical, and Regulatory colleagues, while supporting the pull-through of medical affairs strategic imperatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

Recruit and develop the MSL Field Team located in the West Region to support Medical Affairs strategic priorities.

Manage hiring, deployment, development, evaluation of personnel as well as the management of budgets, timelines, and team activities.

Ensure medical comprehensiveness, scientific accuracy, and compliance of all MSL activities.

Drive the development of OL engagement through sustainable scientific engagements.

Partner with Market Access leadership to provide scientific expertise to key accounts.

Provide input into the strategy and direction for the field-based MSL team by collaborating with both Medical Affairs and cross‑functional teams.

Develop a communication plan that will include regular updates on team activities to Management, presentations to internal customers/stakeholders, and territory updates to the MSL team.

Coordinate and delegate training for MSLs and other internal colleagues.

Contribute to the planning and execution of medical advisory boards to inform Medical Affairs strategic decisions.

Participate in Arcutis research activities such as site/investigator identification and evaluation, and study/project management, as determined by Clinical Development and Medical Affairs teams.

Contribute to activities in support of investigator‑initiated trials and educational programs.

Support collaborative research initiatives in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives.

Support medical value and outcome strategies, including health economics and outcomes research efforts.

Contribute to Medical Affairs content creation, such as scientific materials, presentations, and educational resources.

Collaborate with Medical Information and Operations teams to implement support/coverage of national, regional, and local medical meetings and congresses.

Support the pull‑through of Medical Affairs strategic imperatives by ensuring regional execution and alignment.

Other duties that may be assigned.

Remote work close to major airport. Travel may be required up to 50% of time worked.

Education & Licenses and Experience Typically requires a doctorate level or relevant advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D., D.O.) in scientific discipline; 10+ years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
