Wasatch Dental
We are seeking a warm, personable hygienist with a positive attitude to care for patients at our family-friendly dental practice. The expected hours are 14–18 per week. This position will be Mondays, 7:15 am-4:30 pm, w/1 hr lunch, and Tuesdays 6:50 am-3 pm. The pay range based on experience, performance, and character is around $44.00 per hour. Responsibilities
Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing, to remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
Conduct oral health assessments and screenings to identify and document any issues or concerns.
Record and update patient medical and dental histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Perform periodontal charting and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits, to maintain optimal oral health.
Provide personalized treatment recommendations based on patient needs and oral health status.
Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay.
Perform intra‑oral scans for diagnostic records using the iTero 5D scanner.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow within the practice. This includes occasionally assisting the dentist during dental procedures such as fillings, crown placements, and extractions and occasionally assisting the front office when patients cancel or don't show up.
Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for treatment.
Keep the hygiene room clean and well‑stocked.
Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with dental regulations and guidelines.
Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
Stay current with advances in dental hygiene techniques, technologies, and research.
Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications Active Utah state hygiene license, 2+ years (strongly recommended) experience as a dental hygienist, team player, compassionate, self‑starter, detail‑oriented, honest, strong work ethic, and refined verbal and written communication skills.
