Interventional Radiology Technologist - Full Time - Interventional Radiology - Bayfront Hospital
Position Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complementary to quality care.
Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines.
Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
Ensures patient education on procedure performed, safety, and comfort.
Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission and strategic imperatives.
Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs, provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to appropriate team members.
Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high‑quality images.
Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification.
Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure.
Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all QC tasks.
Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with or without power injectors.
Applies sterile techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross‑contamination.
Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
Maintains customer service skills in communication with all staff, visitors, and co‑workers.
Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, and forms.
Serves as mentor/preceptor to new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
Ensures case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
Maintains punctual attendance consistent with policies and federal/state/local standards.
Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
