Facilities Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Shift: Mon-Fri 3:00pm-11:30pm (weekends as needed)

Job Purpose This position assists the Maintenance and Safety Manager with vendors and RJW Transport contract mechanics, maintaining all company warehouse equipment and premises—including forklifts, building maintenance, and housekeeping responsibilities. The role prepares and maintains AIB standards for all warehouses and reports to the Facilities Assistant Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all maintenance activities in our facilities are appropriately carried out.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
Superior customer service skills, including managing difficult customers and situations.
Train associates on equipment operation (sit‑down, reach truck, walkie‑rider, order picker, and scissor lift).
Professional verbal and written communication.
Read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
General computer knowledge.
Work independently.
Be on‑call for after‑hour emergencies.
Work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Coordinate forklift maintenance and repair.
Supervise maintenance staff at multiple buildings and evaluate their performance.
Maintain audit requirements at multiple facilities.
Provide safety training for new hires at multiple facilities.
Assess damages and report them to the respective facility manager for disciplinary follow‑up.
Fix routine maintenance items without supervision or instruction.
Promote and monitor safety of all employees at all facilities.
Maintain detailed training and safety logs.
Additional Responsibilities
Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
Maintenance: 2 years
Food Safety and Awareness: 2 years
Mechanical: 2 years
Appliance repairs: 2 years
Valid Illinois driver’s license.
Vehicle to travel to other RJW locations.
Safety/Forklift training.
AIB Audit/Organic Audit knowledge.
OSHA standards.
Education and/or Experience Required
High school or equivalent.
Run a high volume of training courses to certify material handlers on equipment.
Concrete drilling and power tool knowledge.
Leadership of janitorial/housekeeping staff.
