Manager, White Space Service Operations
Vertiv’s Thermal Service organization is currently hiring a Manager of White Space Services. The position will lead Vertiv’s liquid cooling, direct‑to‑chip service and project support business operations and support a team of Engineers, Project Managers and Deployment professionals who execute white space data center services for direct‑to‑chip cooling. The manager focuses on establishing processes from pre‑sales through equipment commissioning and ongoing service & maintenance to ensure a smooth, repeatable process.
Responsibilities
Work with Project Deployment and Field Services to define and develop methods, procedures and best practices for performing liquid cooling services in the white space; ensure procedures are documented and enforced.
Create the service and delivery scope of work with technical and service sales teams; drive utilization of standard service tools to achieve quality, financial and schedule targets.
Define required manpower resources for each project or service scope; develop project organizational resource charts and standards with functional group leaders and stakeholders.
Evaluate alternative delivery methods to ensure success of liquid‑cooling services, leveraging expertise from Engineering, Offering and Project Execution; establish and implement processes focused on hand‑offs between functional areas to drive customer satisfaction.
Build and modify existing liquid cooling services to adapt to the rapidly evolving direct‑to‑chip cooling landscape; resolve issues promptly and communicate to stakeholders, including both process and technical engineering solutions.
Establish program reporting and KPIs; document meeting notes, action items and ensure follow‑through to completion.
Execute complex mechanical and electrical projects or services programs with a proven record of accomplishment.
Read and understand project mechanical drawings and scope documents; ensure Vertiv Service meets deliverables and maintains strong customer relationships.
Build new teams, handle conflict resolution with contractors and customers.
Simplify issues in key aspects, provide fair views, and balance process with flexibility when needed.
Perform managerial duties such as hiring and performance reviews in line with the business strategy.
Apply lessons learned to current and future projects.
Qualifications
10+ years of service or installation management experience, with critical infrastructure expertise in thermal cooling systems and monitoring (plus).
Knowledge of construction and mechanical contracting; engineering, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes.
High degree of communication, supervisory, problem‑solving and management skills.
Special skills: excellent written and verbal communication, team building, customer service, project management, detail orientation, organizational, analytical and people skills; ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent field services experience (required). MBA preferred.
