Overview Patient Access Representatives serve as the front‑line encounter for patients, visitors, and staff. They embody the Yale New Haven Health System’s values of integrity, patient‑centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion while ensuring accurate patient registration and billing processes.
Responsibilities
Maintain registration data accuracy, targeting 95% completeness on the individual work plan.
Support customer satisfaction initiatives and deliver exemplary service to patients, families, guests, and visitors.
Facilitate time of service (TOS) collection and meet all TOS standards as outlined in policy.
Attend all required safety training and safely perform job‑related duties.
Follow exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens and use protective barrier equipment correctly.
Interact with patients and coworkers in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. required; B.S., B.A., or A.A. degree preferred.
Prior customer‑service experience in a professional setting preferred.
A.A.H.A.M. Certified Patient Accounts Technician (C.P.A.T.) certification preferred.
Demonstrated team orientation and customer‑focused behaviors.
Additional Information Schedule includes varied hours with weekend and Sunday shifts, including second shifts in the Emergency Department.
