About Us We are a full‑service mechanical contractor specializing in CAD and BIM services, commercial and industrial plumbing, process piping, and commercial HVAC systems. We build, renovate, upgrade, serve, maintain, and operate facilities for a full spectrum of clients.

Job Summary Tucker Mechanical, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., is seeking a qualified Estimator to prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems in commercial and industrial construction projects. The Estimator supports the development of bid quotations, working closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and scope alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Willingness to learn and perform tasks using the established operating methodology.

Collect and work with historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.

Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

Prepare estimates for management use in planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Review contract and bid documents to understand scope for project turnover.

Attend walk‑throughs, pre‑bid, and scope clarification meetings.

Perform quantitative take‑off and computer entry.

Prepare scope letters and proposals.

Maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.

Perform design/build, conceptual and budget estimates.

Coordinate take‑offs, issue bills of material to vendors, and obtain subcontractor quotes.

Assist project managers with take‑offs and pricing changes.

Escalate critical or sensitive issues to the Manager of Preconstruction with recommendations for resolution.

Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs.

Perform additional assignments as required by the company or executives.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Preferred Education and/Or Experience

3+ years of related experience in the construction industry.

High school diploma or GED required.

Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.

Field experience or knowledge is a definite benefit.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Familiarity with Autobid Mechanical, Bluebeam, or similar mechanical, technical, or construction programs is a plus.

Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear; use hands to handle objects; walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally commute to field locations. Specific vision and other physical requirements are listed above.

Work Environment Employees may work outdoors in wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes, or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and varying weather. Noise levels are usually moderate to loud. Employees should expect long periods sitting in front of a computer and occasional travel to field locations.
