Summary of Job Duties The Poison Control Specialist (PRN) role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing real-time, evidence-based clinical guidance on toxic and potentially toxic exposures to both healthcare providers and the public across APDIC's designated region. In this position, you will also serve as a trusted resource for medication-related information, delivering clear, accurate, and timely recommendations that support safe, effective care and promote public health.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Strong reading and writing skills

Computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care settings

New graduate RNs with prior LPN experience in ED or Critical Care will be considered

Additional Information

Providing information and treatment advice to callers regarding toxic exposures or potentially toxic exposures. Creating and updating the electronic medical records created by these inquiries.

Providing educational information on toxic substances and drug substances to callers.

Assisting in the education/instruction of professional students and residents.

Other duties as assigned.

Salary Information PRN position and PRN RN rate will apply.
