Sourcing Specialist

Base pay range: $70,304 /yr – $80,000 /yr
Job Description Universal Destinations & Experiences has a fully integrated, in‑house sourcing department conducting primary research from RFP development, data processing, field work, cost modeling and compilation of information to final analysis, contract negotiation and reporting.
The Sourcing Specialist will review and analyze a wide range of sourcing projects and purchase requisitions, including capital and expense items and services; investigate and develop sources; prepare scopes of works and bid specifications; issue bid requests; and review proposals. Assigned to material categories, the Sourcing Specialist also will communicate purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, requiring high operations and technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and participates in or leads competitive RFPs as necessary, including RFP creation, distribution, tracking, scheduling, analysis and management.
Communicates proactively and effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.
Builds and fosters relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to influence change.
Collaborates with stakeholders in Technical Services (construction, facilities, MRO), Entertainment Production (scenic, lighting, audio), and Park Operations (consumables, wardrobe).
Leverages industry associations, network, peers and stakeholders to build market knowledge and understand industry trends to identify best practices and achieve performance goals for the category.
Drives completion of multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with respective business units.
Proactively considers new alternatives and drives critical thinking to optimize results.
Independently negotiates commercial and performance aspects of outsourcing agreements – strong understanding of pricing models, SLAs, benchmarking, and technical scope criteria.
Develops, evaluates, and presents business cases, cost/benefit analysis, executive summaries to stakeholders.
Works with Legal to draft contracts, Finance to perform financial reviews, and business stakeholders to manage procurement practices.
Assists business partners with vendor set‑up and vendor record maintenance as needed.
Oversees vendor qualification.
Performs data / spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, TCO, and value creation.
Leads governance of vendor sourcing agreements.
Manages / mitigates vendor risks, business continuity, and security.
Acts as liaison with vendors to ensure organizational needs are met.
Provides input, support, and execution on initiatives for continuous improvement within the department (SOPs, reference documents, visual aids, database creation, etc.).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university – preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain or related.
1–2 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, finance, or related field.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Critical thinking skills.
Must have both quantitative and qualitative market research experience.
Experience working with financials, budgets, and cost models.
Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data – can tell a story with data.
Strong multitasking capabilities, project management skills, and ability to work effectively with tight deadlines.
Self‑directed and able to work independently but also able to collaborate in a team‑oriented department.
Ability to learn and become subject matter expert quickly.
Proven ability to foster and maintain working relationships, internally and externally.
Experience directly negotiating with suppliers.
Occasional travel may be required.
Desired Characteristics:
MBA is a plus.
Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change.
Demonstrated comfort level with ambiguity.
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills.
Clear thinker who is proven to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
Excels in a fast‑paced environment and can quickly pivot to meet schedule.
Hybrid:
This position has been designated as hybrid, requiring office presence minimum of three days per week; beginning January 5 2026, minimum four days per week.
