Location: Rochester, NY or Newark, NY | Employment type: Part‑time | Schedule: Saturday–Sunday 8:00‑4:00 pm | Salary: $19.25–$19.75 per hour.

General Description Under general supervision, provide a safe, therapeutic environment for residents through medication management, recreation, facility management, and other residential activities. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by NYS OASAS and other governing bodies. Effectively support ongoing and collaborative communication among program staff and ensure a trauma‑informed care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Monitors residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment.

Cover nonclinical psychoeducational groups as needed.

Observe peer‑led activities.

Provide transportation when needed.

Conduct room and personal belonging searches to ensure safety.

Conduct urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly while practicing universal precautions.

Provide conflict management to residents as needed.

Supervise meal preparation by clients to assure sanitation, safety, and nutritional standards; L2 certification required.

Maintain cleanliness of facility, assign chores, and ensure satisfactory completion.

Debrief relevant information to incoming employees during shift exchange; conduct visible rounds to verify all residents are accounted for.

Execute emergency procedures and notify Residence Manager immediately.

Conduct monthly fire drills.

Engage security system.

Provide medication observation and monitoring using established protocols in absence of LPN coverage.

Complete and maintain documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

Enter shift notes into electronic client record database per scheduled shift.

Complete group notes and incident reports as required.

Advocate for the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.

Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.

Valid and clean NYS driver’s license.

At least two years of experience in human services, crisis intervention, residential setting, or emergency services.

Knowledge of homeless client issues and conflict resolution techniques preferred.

A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
