Aerial Lift Equipment Service Manager / Technician
to lead shop operations while performing advanced mechanical service work both in-house and in the field.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician looking for leadership responsibility, autonomy, and long‑term growth.
POSITION SUMMARY As a Service Manager / Technician , you will manage shop operations while performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on aerial lifts and material handling equipment. You’ll work independently, lead by example, support junior technicians, and deliver exceptional service to customers.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with growth potential as our service department expands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform advanced maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
Manage and operate the service shop efficiently and safely
Travel to customer job sites as needed for repairs and maintenance
Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
Train and assist lower-level technicians as needed
Complete service and repair documentation accurately and daily (time, parts, diagnostics)
Annual ANSI inspections on aerial lifts
Return inspections and repairs using tag‑in/lock‑out procedures
Daily equipment prep for outgoing rentals
Maintain equipment status boards and submit inspection documentation
Develop familiarity with all company rental and serviced equipment
Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
5+ years of experience
repairing and maintaining equipment and tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced tool knowledge
Experience with construction equipment and various engine types
Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability best practices
Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs
Preferred: Ownership of most tools required for the position

COMPENSATION
$35-50 per hour
40 hours per week with overtime opportunities during seasonal peaks
Commission Incentive:
profit share on service work you bring in
Additional incentives available for in‑house service work based on volume and turnaround
Additional compensation potential based on performance
