Key Responsibilities As a Transportation Manager at dnata Catering, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely transportation of meals and supplies to various airline clients. With a focus on logistics and coordination, you will ensure that our products are delivered to the correct destinations, adhering to strict schedules and safety regulations. Your role will involve managing a team of drivers, monitoring vehicle maintenance (380 catering trucks), and optimizing delivery routes for maximum efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Manage transportation movements between the facility and airfield according to customer requirements and operational needs.
Ensure all catering is transported while adhering to SOPs, safety guidelines, and internal quality assurance programs.
Manage a small group of dispatchers who coordinate the movements of all trucks, checking, verifying, and advising on latest timings, delays, and special operations notices.
Maintain a fleet of catering trucks and vehicles for performance, appearance, and operational readiness.
Schedule drivers and dispatchers, ensuring correct coverage throughout the week, including days off and minimum rest periods.
Implement and maintain a robust safety audit program, providing root cause analysis and corrective action plans for identified failures.
Nonessential Functions
Other duties as assigned.
Education Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with 5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
Airport experience is preferred, but not required.
CDL License Class A or B preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before customer or employee groups.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Must be able to pass authority (local/state) and U.S. Customs & Border Protection background check and obtain ID.
Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule.
Able to work closely with customers in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work in inclement weather (windy, rain, snow, excessive heat).
Intellectual/Social Demands While performing essential functions, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. The position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards, including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions. The employee must maintain constant attendance and punctuality, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and take responsibility for own actions.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions.
Uses equipment and materials properly.
Work Environment
Regular exposure to extreme cold/heat (weather), heights, and loud noise (earplugs must be worn while on the ramp).
