Role Summary The Senior Product Owner, Distribution Compensation Systems will play a critical role in executing the business priorities of the Group Distribution Compensation team. The Senior PO will maximize product value by leading the feature vision and owning the team backlog in close partnership with the Tech Lead, ensuring product strategy and vision from the Product Manager translate into delivery that meets business and customer needs. The Senior PO will act as the bridge between the development team and stakeholders, managing dependencies across teams, and maintaining accountability for product quality.

You will

Translate the product vision and strategy into a team backlog, including features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria and tasks, ensuring alignment with epics and customer needs

Work closely with the Product Manager to prioritize and implement process improvements, track progress and communicate updates to stakeholders

Define, prioritize, and sequence product features and requirements in the team backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs

Manage the backlog and roadmap in collaboration with the Tech Lead

Break down data requirements into the team backlog and ensure timely and quality delivery of product functionality and desired customer experience

Work with data and AI SMEs to ensure data and AI standards are met across applications

Conduct go‑to‑market readiness activities as the team prepares for release, including reviewing the release plan with the PDM

You have

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

A minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in product management or a related field

Desirable to have 2‑3 years of experience in building sales commissions systems

Proven experience in defining and driving product roadmaps, integrating customer research, and ensuring compliance with data/AI standards

Strong knowledge of product journey mapping, business process improvement, and OKR management

Experience working with cross‑functional teams

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Experience with compensation systems is preferred

Understanding of group benefits insurance industry preferred

Location

The primary location for this position is Holmdel, NJ.

The work arrangement will be hybrid (3+ days per week in Guardian's Holmdel, NJ Office).

Position will require occasional travel.

Salary Range $118,980.00 - $195,465.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
