Responsibilities
Ensure that all team members of the maintenance department are properly trained by providing guidance and coaching, evaluation and foster development for team members (i.e. Onboarding & training)
Participate and collaborate on special projects with production and engineering
Works with maintenance storeroom coordinator to ensure proper kitting for scheduled jobs
Actively manages the onsite work of all third‑party repairs for facility
Identifies scenarios where repairs, parts, or equipment failure should be covered under warranty
Assess daily line performance in conjunction with supervisor utilizing RedZone
Train, motivate and direct employees to adhere to safe work methods and standards
Leads daily inter‑shift communication meetings
Assume ownership of preventive maintenance activities
Continuously evaluate PM activities and frequencies to ensure optimum use of manpower and resources in maximizing equipment reliability.
Identify departmental work requirements and communicates to the team what is upcoming
Documents the details of work performed and the completion of all work orders in asset management system (ManagerPlus)
Assist and execute capital projects and machine rebuilds
Contribute to and generate breakdown analysis documents to prevent repeat problems
Improve problem solving and breakdown analysis techniques of maintenance staff via specialized training
Suggest changes to PM's accordingly with recommendations for improvement
Review and contribute to the success of plant assets min/max program
Cross train leads within the maintenance department
Recommend strategies for efficient operation of maintenance department, including development and implementation of projects
Ability to read and interpret safety documentation, blueprints, instruction manuals, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and mechanical drawings
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Rework and rebuild mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Perform the proper electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on all plant equipment and machinery
Safely operate high‑lift equipment for overhead work
Safely operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, saws, grinders and welding equipment
Train, preform and comply with LOTO
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in addition to knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
4-6 years of mechanical/electrical technician experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
