Shipping and Yard Team Lead

Purpose/Description Under the direction of the Volvo Operations Concept:
Responsible for the process start‑up and control
Meets production goals
Answers Andon calls
Covers absenteeism
Creates and updates SOP’s together with team members and Logistics Manager
Performs SOP audits (SOP observation)
Manages rotation and training based on job cover matrix tool
Participates in standard kaizen activities
Certifies training following 4‑step method training methodology
Core Responsibilities
Meet the production goals by supplying cores to disassembly, and by shipping finished products on time.
Manage core process – receiving, inspection, handling and inventory management
Manage tracking requirement – unit flow tracking system (UFT) and manual tracking
Manage organizing cores and yard
Manage repair and return process together with Engineering and Finance
Manage final inspection for products before shipping
Manage shipping process for preparation, documentation, scheduling trucks and invoicing
Manage internal delivery truck schedule and safe operation
Manage Autonomous Maintenance for all equipment (Truck, Forklifts, Wheel loader, Bailer, Printers)
Work closely with Logistics and Production to follow up
Manage availability of resources by controlling ETO requests and 3 by 3 compliance
Document any losses that disturb operation
Maintain organized, clean and safe work place
Manage environmental aspect of operations
Manage KPIs for the operation and follow up

Volvo Production System/Toyota Production System a strong advantage
Lean manufacturing a strong advantage & Basic and specific computer skills
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs occasionally
Vocational certificate or equivalent experience
Must be forklift certified
Must have a valid driver’s license
Safety
Safety glasses required while grinding, steaming, using blow nozzles or around others performing similar tasks.
Safety glasses required in cleaning building, and machine shop at all times
Safety shoes required at all times
Special attention to noise levels, hearing protection required in specific areas or operations
High level of alertness at all times

For this position, the base pay is set at $26.38 - $35.70/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work‑related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
