Warehouse Manager
to lead daily operations and scale our warehouse team. Position Summary
Modern Matter is seeking a
Warehouse Manager with a military background
(active or prior security clearance required) to lead and manage warehouse associates across inbound, assembly, and distribution operations. This role is ideal for a disciplined, mission‑driven leader who excels at people management, accountability, and operational execution. This position reports to the
Head of Operations
and operates with oversight from the
CEO
or other designated leaders. What You’ll Do
Leadership & People Management
Maintain
direct hiring authority
for warehouse associates across inbound (receiving & QC), kitting, assembly, and distribution Screen, interview, hire, onboard, train, and manage warehouse team members Handle daily HR‑related matters including scheduling, attendance, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution Set staffing levels, schedules, and daily priorities to meet service‑level expectations Enforce safety standards, operating procedures, and performance expectations Warehouse Operations
Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse activities Ensure accurate receipt of goods and quality inspections Manage inventory stocking, bin locations, and organization Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and controls Ensure accurate, timely, and properly packaged outbound shipments Systems & Process Management
Work within our ERP system to manage receipts, inventory, and orders (training provided) Ensure accurate system transactions and documentation Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to support growth Cross‑Functional Communication
Communicate regularly with Sales regarding order priorities and fulfillment status Partner with Operations leadership to align warehouse execution with company goals Provide updates to the CEO on staffing, performance, and operational needs What We’re Looking For
Prior
military service strongly preferred Active or previously held security clearance required Experience managing teams in a warehouse, logistics, or operations environment Strong people leadership and decision‑making skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Comfortable in a fast‑paced, growing environment Strong verbal and written communication skills ERP, WMS, or inventory system experience preferred (not required — we will train) Why Work at Modern Matter
