What to Expect
The Manager - Manufacturing Engineering, General Assembly position, reporting to Sr. Manager - Manufacturing Engineering, is located at our Fremont Factory location. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers to support business needs in multiple Assembly shops. Business needs may include justification, procurement, and implementation of new equipment to introduce new products, new technology, or optimization. The successful candidate will have experience managing large projects, and diverse manufacturing engineering teams in an automotive OEM setting.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for General Assembly equipment and process design, implementation and optimization, including performance assessment, role definition, resource planning, recruiting, coaching, and team building.
- Manage implementation of new product, equipment, and technology— including capital project justification, procurement, design, installation, commissioning, and production ramp adhering to strict project timelines and milestones.
- Create and manage large project schedule, budget and spend plan associated with new program / product launches and capital equipment implementation.
- Ensure Safety, Health, and Environmental regulation compliance of General Assembly process and manufacturing areas. Coordinate and execute machine safeguarding validation and safety buyoff & environmental compliance of new equipment.
- Clearly and concisely present project justification, status, constraints, and impact to senior and executive management.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure clear synchronization of responsibility and priority, fostering a positive and openly collaborative project team environment.
- Provide technical expertise and innovation to support engineering, maintenance, and production groups. Study technologies to expert‑level of understanding and define productive applications to improve business conditions.
- Create standard systems, tools, and procedures to organize and streamline engineering workflow and department documentation.
- Support / assist Maintenance in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures. Provide technical training to maintenance, production, and other internal resource groups.
- Working in a hands‑on capacity in a production environment to fully understand scope, impact, and associated challenges. Provide technical support to production, maintenance, quality, and other groups as required.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Project Leadership experience in a Manufacturing or Equipment Engineering role.
- Previous People Leadership experience & proven competence.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to objectively resolve conflict within a large group.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to work flexible hours and schedules as required.

Expected Compensation: $116,000 - $222,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
