The Cloud Data Architect designs and implements an organization's cloud data strategy, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of FEMA’s data architecture, collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders, providing technical leadership in cloud database architecture focusing on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), developing and implementing cloud data strategies aligned with business objectives, designing and managing cloud data infrastructure, planning and executing data migrations from on-premises to cloud environments, implementing and maintaining data security policies, collaborating with other technology and business teams to establish data solutions, staying updated on cloud data technologies, leading the deployment of overall cloud data architecture, developing standards and frameworks, communicating with stakeholders and technical peers, developing and communicating technical data architecture direction and roadmap, maintaining understanding of current cloud data platform, translating business and technical requirements into data architectural blueprints, providing guidance on cloud automation and CI/CD capabilities, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, collaborating with security architecture and information security, performing other duties as assigned, and complying with all policies and standards. Requirements include the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust, a Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of experience in lieu of degree, ten or more years of experience supporting Data Cloud Strategies/Architecture, Oracle OCI Certification, excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and US citizenship. Preferred qualifications include existing DHS Suitability, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect or Implementation Specialist Certification, experience supporting federal government customers, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability and eagerness to learn, customer-centric approach, ability to tailor solutions to business goals, business and technical acumen, experience leading technology implementations/transformations, IT strategy skills, and experience supporting emergency management security sector customers.
