Job Summary And Qualifications Position Summary: Performs a full range of administrative assistant duties for the Respiratory Therapy Department. Prioritizes and completes assignments in a timely, professional manner. Acts as a liaison between directors, administration, employees, patients, families and the respiratory therapy department. Provides administrative and organizational support to the respiratory therapy department including daily paperwork, ordering and re‑stocking of supplies, monthly statistics, data entry, documentation audits, reconciliation of respiratory therapy charges, monitoring staff compliance with meetings/classes, scheduling appointments for the pulmonary diagnostics lab, communication with external reviewers, scheduling meetings, minutes, and payroll. Follows SMC policy for telephonic/facsimile review unless otherwise approved by the Director of respiratory therapy. Experience 6 months previous secretarial preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must have effective verbal and written communication in order to communicate in a clear, concise manner with staff, employees, patients and administration. Knowledge of computer programs to produce monthly statistical reports, graphs, spreadsheets and typing skills are required. The ability to maintain confidentiality of information is essential. Strong organizational and people skills required to handle the multitude of calls and requests for information. Must be able to prioritize workload, and develop efficient methods of managing time.
