Department: Process and Development – Player Development Reports to: Director, Minor League Operations Location: Potential locations include Port Charlotte, FL; Charleston, SC; Bowling Green, KY; Montgomery, AL; Durham, NC Description The Rays Process and Development team helps athletes develop high-performance habits that allow them to thrive in a professional baseball setting. We are currently looking to add a Seasonal Process and Development Coach to our team to expand our coverage throughout our Minor League system. An individual in this role can expect to work closely with players, coaches, and staff to implement mental performance strategies in a team environment. If you’re passionate about the development of athletes, implementing mental performance strategies, and working in a collaborative team environment, we welcome you to apply! Responsibilities Spend your first weeks learning and absorbing Rays Process and Development tools and curriculum; be curious, ask questions, and connect with your team. Build and foster relationships with all relevant stakeholders, from our athletes and field coaches to the front office and everyone in between. Implement Rays Mental Performance services at your assigned affiliate; deliver sessions for athletes and staff through various formats (on-field, presentations, one-on-one, etc.). Collaborate across various departments including, but not limited to, Player Development, Medical, Strength & Conditioning, Performance Science, and Nutrition. Contribute to ongoing departmental research, studying and vetting the latest findings in the fields of sport and performance psychology. Qualifications A commitment to upholding trust, empathy, humility, and respect at all times. Master’s level degree in Psychology, Sports Psychology, or related field. Has, or is working towards, certification for Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC) 1+ years of experience in a high-performance setting (professional, collegiate, military, elite). Spanish speaking skills preferred, but not required All offers are contingent on a satisfactory background check.
