Summary
Responsible for assembling components of pressure and non-pressure tank new and used products or surface mounted aeration equipment to include mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic circuitry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process work orders, written and oral instructions.
Assemble systems using hand tools, power tools or machines in accordance with work orders and internal quality standards.
Maintain inventory system accuracy by documenting parts used and additional parts needed.
Visually check parts to ensure system quality requirements are met during assembly processes.
Inspect parts to insure quantity, quality, and size.
Report defective material, faulty equipment operations or questionable conditions.
Print tags, attach, package, and assign product assembly number to align with internal part and assembly processes.
Coordinate with material handling, sales, and other departments to expedite orders.
Support shipping and receiving processes as directed by department manager.
Complies with all safety, personal protective equipment, and material handling requirements.
Operation and safe use of forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
Maintain safe and organized working area.
Additional duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accuracy and efficiency in meeting production demands.
Participate in meetings as required.
Perform duties in a safe manner and promote the safety to others in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures. This includes reporting all safety concerns, near-misses, and incidents to their manager.
Adhere to the company processes as detailed in Newterra’s online systems and programs and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement.
Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to your position in the applicable timeframe.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in a manufacturing or water utilities environment.
Strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize.
Detail oriented to ensure the highest level of product quality.
Dependable and willing to learn.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to operate machinery and read gauges, dials or other machine indicators as required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of product assembly and compliance standards.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal.
Positive attitude.
Strong oral comprehension and communication skills.
Physical Demands
Ability to work indoors on your feet and wear required personal protective equipment during your shift every day. Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable standing, stooping, or bending for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
This is a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to elements such as loud noise, hazardous equipment, heat, dirt, dust, fumes, and other materials. Exposure to hot or cold temperatures or inclement weather based on indoor or outdoor conditions. Company safety standards must be always followed.
