Swoon is actively seeking an Machine Learning Engineer to join the team!
Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
What will your day-to-day look like?
Design, build, and enhance machine learning systems that power autonomous industrial robots, combining perception, decision‑making, and control algorithms at scale
Partner closely with robotics, deployment, and sales teams to translate real‑world customer needs into high‑impact machine learning solutions
Develop and productionize deep learning models using TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, including adapting state‑of‑the‑art architectures to solve novel, complex problems
Build product features, data pipelines, and internal tools to visualize, monitor, and understand model behavior and performance
Apply data science best practices to analyze model outputs and system performance, generating actionable insights that drive continuous improvement
Automate, manage, and validate data collection, training, and evaluation pipelines to ensure model reliability and scalability
Communicate model performance, results, and trade‑offs clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability
What’s required?
Strong software engineering experience in Python (primary) with exposure to Rust, building reliable, production‑grade machine learning systems
Hands‑on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, along with a solid understanding of core machine learning and data science principles
Experience working in cloud‑native environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Storage), supporting large‑scale data and ML workflows
Proficiency with data orchestration, infrastructure, and platform tooling, including Airflow, Kubernetes, Terraform, gRPC, and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with big data systems and processing tools (e.g., BigQuery, Spark, Hive) and designing scalable data pipelines
Ability to take full ownership of projects—setting realistic timelines, working independently in large shared codebases, and delivering results with minimal oversight
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset, with preferred experience in robotics, computer vision (3D scene understanding, detection/segmentation), or robotic manipulation systems
