About This Role The Product Development team is seeking a Human Factors Engineer to enhance product usability and safety. This role supports the Human Factors Center of Excellence and collaborates with cross‑functional teams. The position offers significant career growth while positively impacting lives through design and technology.
What You Will Be Doing
Support execution and documentation for usability engineering evaluations.
Author formative and summative usability study protocols.
Coordinate and moderate formative usability studies.
Root‑cause analyze and aggregate data for presentations and formal reports.
Partner with external vendors to execute human factors evaluations (recruiting, study design, execution, analysis, reporting).
Update usability risk analyses in collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Collaborate with Verification & Validation teams during Design Validation and Summative Human Factors Validation.
Work with design teams to create patient‑centric and compliant designs.
What We Want To See
BS in Human Factors or a science/engineering discipline with relevant experience and at least 1 year of Human Factors experience in regulated domains (medical devices).
MS in Human Factors or a related science/engineering discipline is preferred.
Understanding of regulatory requirements and knowledge of medical device design, FDA guidelines, and relevant standards such as H ME 75 and IEC.
Demonstrated technical problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Work Environment / Other Requirements
Available for up to 25% travel, including domestic and international trips (must be cleared for international travel).
Remote US or based in SF Bay Area; if located in SFBA, role is hybrid (1–2 days per week in the office).
Location: Remote – US
Compensation and Benefits Estimated pay range: $72,000 – $90,000.
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and location.
