Lead IT Auditor

Responsibilities
Supervise and review moderate to high‑risk audit work performed by audit team members.
Define risk‑based audit scope and objectives for district‑focused audits, establish time frames and budgets, and revise audit programs.
Execute approved audit programs with independence, evaluating IT governance, controls and operational effectiveness.
Identify, assess, and challenge audit exceptions; make recommendations and present clear explanations to management.
Prepare written audit reports, ensuring reasonable edits and management sign‑off.
Appraise corrective action taken for previous audit findings and review follow‑up work.
Maintain knowledge of moderate to high‑risk areas, analyze data, and develop audit programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of five years of internal audit experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) required within 24 months of placement.
Proficient audit‑specific communication skills; strong verbal and written abilities.
Strong understanding of general audit applications, data analytics, and IT controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Sound knowledge of risk management, compliance, and data‑related frameworks.
In-depth understanding of IPPF, COSO, and ERM frameworks.
Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and assess control design, operational effectiveness, and outcome.
Strategic insight, research, and synthesis of risk information.
Strong presentation, facilitation, and project‑management skills.
Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
US citizenship or green‑card holder with intent to become a citizen.
Preferred Skills / Experience
Extensive audit experience in a project lead capacity (Lead Auditor, Auditor‑in‑Charge).
Proficient understanding of auditing large‑scale IT programs/projects.
Internal auditing experience within financial services or government agencies, or businesses with large cash operations.
Knowledge of data analytics software.
Compensation Base Salary: $100,300 – $160,300 (Location: San Francisco). Final salary determined by background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
