An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care to contribute expertise in a high-acuity critical care setting. This position offers a contract engagement with a schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, guaranteeing a minimum of 34.5 hours per week. Ideal candidates will demonstrate advanced critical care nursing skills and a commitment to patient-centered care. Key Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited institution Active Registered Nurse license valid in New York State or by reciprocity Minimum of three years experience in an ICU environment is highly preferred Certifications required at start: ACLS, BLS, PALS Preferred, though not mandatory: CCRN and TNCC certifications Proficient in managing patients with external ventricular drains (EVD), multiple medication drips, and invasive monitoring technologies such as Hemosphere and FloTrac Skilled in trauma patient management across varying severities Competent in conducting assessments utilizing CAM, CPOT, and RASS scales Experienced in hypothermia protocol management and pleurevac chest tube care Familiarity with Allscripts electronic medical records system Adherence to strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols Knowledgeable in the operation of patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps Ability to follow standard operating procedures and critical care guidelines rigorously Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, accurately assessing patient status using validated tools, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, and maintaining meticulous documentation.
