Purpose of Position
The baker is responsible for The Eat Shop's daily baking operations. The baker is responsible for meticulously executing recipes and producing baked goods per the production schedule. The baker will maintain The Eat Shop quality standards by delivering premium products and services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manage production and prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to The Eat Shop's approved recipes
Mix, bake, build, decorate and inscribe products in an efficient manner (as applicable)
Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
Safely operate and maintain bakery equipment
Communicate effectively with customers and teammates
Perform well in a fast-faced environment
Collaborate will with teammates
Maintain a clean and sanitary baking area
Open and close the bakery as assigned
Work Experience and Requirements
Must have experience baking a variety of items at home or in a commercial setting
Must be detail-oriented and able to concentrate in fast-paced environment
Ability to work in cross functional roles as needed (back of house and front of house)
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers and teammates
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead is required on a daily basis
Must be able to stand for extended period of time
Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
Language Skills
Must be able to speak, read and write English
Must be able to communicate to coworkers and customers in a clear, concise and professional manner
