An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience to provide quality patient care in an 18-40 bed Emergency Department and Telemetry/Medical-Surgical unit. This contract position is based in the Portland, Texas area. This role requires strong clinical skills, including ACLS and BLS certifications, and a valid Texas nursing license. Candidates without these credentials will not be considered. Experience with cardiac care, such as managing non-titrating cardiac drips, and familiarity with Baxter IV pumps and GE telemetry equipment are highly valued. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current Texas Registered Nurse license Active ACLS and BLS certifications Previous experience in Emergency Room and Telemetry/Med-Surg settings Proficient in Meditech 5.6 EMR system Comfortable with patient ratios around 6:1 Flexible and easy-going with strong communication skills Responsibilities: Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry/Med-Surgical units Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac drips under physician orders Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including charge nurses, bedside nurses, and patient care technicians Adhere to unit policies and procedures including rotating weekend shifts Location: Situated near the vibrant coastal region, Portland offers a warm community with access to beautiful waterfront parks, recreational facilities, and cultural events.
