Job Summary: Mammography Technologist will perform routine diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring patient safety and image quality. Responsibilities include proper patient positioning, operating imaging equipment, processing and submitting digital images for radiologist review, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role also involves performing quality control checks, adhering to radiation safety standards, monitoring patients for adverse reactions to contrast media, and reporting equipment issues as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)

Certifications:

Basic Life Suuport (BLS)

American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

License:

JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.

Experience:

Minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist within the last two years (preferred).

U.S. Citizenship is required

Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures.

Correctly position patients and make necessary technical adjustments.

Process digital images and submit them for radiologist interpretation.

Maintain records and document procedures per facility policies.

Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks.

Recognize and report equipment malfunctions, initiating repair procedures.

Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media and respond to emergencies.

Work Environment & Schedule: Monday – Friday, 0600 -1800, Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California

Compensation & Benefits: Up to $ 52.50 per hour + Health & Welfare.
