Location: Hawaii
ECC is seeking a
Health & Safety Manager
for upcoming work in Hawaii and surrounding areas. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Company safety standards, contractual requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The position may support multiple concurrent projects and subcontractors. In this position, you will:
Implement and manage Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Health & Safety Plans, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
Promote and enforce Company health and safety programs across construction sites
Oversee development, review, and acceptance of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance and identify risk
Lead safety training for Company staff, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Prepare and maintain required safety documentation, reports, logs, and records
Investigate incidents, document findings, and track corrective actions to closure
Serve as the primary site safety representative with clients and regulatory agencies
Collaborate with Project Managers to integrate safety into project planning and execution
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to safety staff and junior personnel
Support subcontractor safety reviews and compliance assessments
In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements
Minimum
eight (8) years
of progressive construction health & safety experience
Strong knowledge of
USACE EM 385-1-1
and
OSHA 1910 / 1926
Proven ability to communicate effectively and work independently
Experience training and influencing teams without direct authority
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business systems
Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Ability to obtain and maintain Military base access
Ability to travel periodically based on project needs
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related field (equivalent additional experience may be accepted)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting
DoD construction projects
(USACE, NAVFAC)
Demonstrated success managing subcontractor safety compliance
Certifications such as
CSP
or
CIH
HAZWOPER 40-hour (and refresher) and Supervisor certification
USACE Contractor Quality Management (CQM)
OSHA 30-Hour Construction
ECC targeted salary range for US locations average is $92,000 to $120,000 annually.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
