Compensation: $120,000 - 145,000 USD / year

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you'll be responsible for building, qualifying, and strengthening Fictiv's U.S.-based manufacturing partner network. You'll work hands‑on with CNC, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, and injection molding suppliers to ensure we have the right capabilities, capacity, quality, and cost structure to support our customers at scale.

This is a remote role, but candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Local presence is essential, as this position involves frequent, in‑person visits to manufacturing partners to assess capabilities, develop relationships, and drive continuous improvement.

This is not a transactional sourcing role and not a desk‑only job. You'll spend time on factory floors, in production discussions, and working directly with suppliers to solve real manufacturing challenges.

You'll report to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing, U.S., and serve as a senior individual contributor and subject‑matter expert within the Strategic Sourcing team.

You'll ensure Fictiv maintains a balanced, high‑performing domestic supplier network—one that can meet demanding technical requirements while staying competitive on cost and lead time.

This role requires ongoing engagement with suppliers, both virtually and on‑site, to evaluate performance, resolve issues, and drive long‑term improvements.

What You'll Do Build & Manage Manufacturing Partner Relationships Supplier Sourcing & Onboarding

Identify, evaluate, and onboard new U.S.-based manufacturing partners

Conduct on-site assessments of technical capability, capacity, and operational readiness

Ensure suppliers align with Fictiv's standards, goals, and long‑term strategy

Relationship Ownership

Build trusted, long‑term relationships with strategic manufacturing partners

Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier performance and alignment

Engage suppliers both in person and remotely to drive accountability and results

Negotiate & Align Commercial Terms Manufacturing Service Agreements (MSAs)

Lead or support negotiations of Manufacturing Service Agreements

Align suppliers on pricing, lead times, capacity commitments, and performance expectations

Ensure agreements support scalability, quality, and long‑term competitiveness

Develop & Strengthen Supplier Performance Supplier Development

Lead supplier development initiatives to improve quality, throughput, reliability, and technical capability

Partner with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to address performance gaps

Engagement & Standards

Drive consistent supplier engagement and adherence to Fictiv standards and expectations

Optimize Cost, Capacity & Network Health

Manage a strategically balanced domestic supplier portfolio

Optimize spend allocation, capacity utilization, and capability coverage

Analyze cost structures, utilization data, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and transparency

Collaborate Across the Business

Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Quality, Costing/DFM, and Operations teams

Align supplier strategies with customer needs and program requirements

Support supply chain development for large or complex customer programs

Be Present on the Factory Floor

Conduct regular on-site visits to manufacturing partner facilities

Assess real‑world production constraints and opportunities

Strengthen partnerships through direct, face‑to‑face collaboration

Travel Expectation Average 25–50% travel, primarily local to the San Francisco Bay Area

How You'll Work

Operate in alignment with the Strategic Sourcing Charter and defined Areas of Responsibility

Maintain consistent, scalable sourcing processes and documentation

Contribute to and uphold Fictiv's Quality Management System (QMS)

What We're Looking For

7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, or supplier development

Hands‑on experience working directly with domestic manufacturing suppliers, including on‑site engagement

Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, or additive manufacturing

Proven success sourcing, qualifying, negotiating with, and developing manufacturing suppliers

Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting cost models and operational data

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Highly organized, self‑directed, and comfortable operating autonomously

Strong project management capability

Ability to travel 25–50%, primarily within the San Francisco Bay Area

Compliance Requirement This role requires access to export‑controlled technology and is restricted to U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. §1324b). Proof of status will be required prior to employment.
