Job Overview

Manages and leads

the Measurement House and the Measurement Team

Directs and oversees

the Failure Analysis Team for complex problem‑solving

Plans, conducts, and manages

Quality Releases as well as Connectivity Releases

Responsibilities

Lead

the Failure Analysis Team and cross‑functional teams to resolve complex quality issues

Support

development of effective countermeasures to eliminate recurring quality concerns

Set up

the Measurement House, including planning, layout, procurement, and installation of equipment

Define and align

measurement methods with local and international counterparts

Prepare and execute

maintenance inspection plans for products, fixtures, and gages per audit schedules

Implement and train

Measurement House staff on updates to CAD systems and programming platforms such as CALIGO and PolyWorks

Select vendors , review equipment designs, and manage buy‑off processes for Measurement House installations

Own responsibility

for Quality Release of new products and Connectivity Releases in W566

Organize and steer

plant quality meetings to drive continuous improvement

Lead

cross‑functional projects as requested by senior management

Develop and implement

procedures for work instructions, PBs, and AA documents

Conduct and lead

internal and external audits ensuring compliance with standards

Document and analyze

data in accordance with audit requirements

Benchmark and collaborate

on standards and best practices with sister plants in Europe

Manage administrative tasks

and ensure timely completion

Hire, mentor, and develop

team members to build a high‑performing organization

Track and maintain

departmental budgets effectively

Coordinate and manage

training programs to enhance team capabilities

Knowledge and Skills

Expertise in failure analysis

and defect remedy processes

Strong understanding of 8D Problem Solving methodology

Proficiency in project management and coordination

Familiarity with measurement house equipment such as Zeiss CMMs, Faro Arms, Leica laser trackers, and Creaform scanners

Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (GD&T, GR&R, capability studies)

Understanding of Body in White (including in‑line measurements) and automotive assembly processes

Knowledge of CAD systems (Engineering Clients, NX‑Siemens)

Proficiency in measurement software (PolyWorks, CALIGO)

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite

German language skills

are a plus

Training in AUKOM 1, AUKOM 2, Pi‑Web preferred but not required

Qualifications Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree

in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

5–8 years of relevant experience , preferably in planning, production, quality management, or R&D

Specific knowledge in vehicle manufacturing and quality management

Mercedes‑Benz product knowledge , preferably Vans

Intercultural experience

and ability to collaborate globally

CAD/CAM knowledge and experience

A

team player

with excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Proven track record of

driving projects on time , fostering a positive work environment, and engaging employees

Metrology and problem‑solving experience
