Coastal Health Primary Care Physician
Overview Coastal Health is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary Care Physician to join our growing team. The physician will be responsible for providing and managing comprehensive, high‑quality care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including physical exams, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments
Prescribe medications and treatment plans based on clinical assessments
Refer patients to specialists or other appropriate healthcare resources as needed
Oversee daily operations of assigned patient care programs or units, if applicable
Collaborate with and supervise nursing and support staff in the delivery of patient care
Ensure adherence to departmental policies, safety and infection control standards, and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in health promotion, patient education, and preventive care programs as appropriate
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with 3–5 years of directly related clinical experience (residency may fulfill this requirement)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in a relevant medical specialty
Current Federal DEA Certification
Valid state medical license in good standing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skilled in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care
Strong understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in medical practice
Proficient in prescribing medications and educating patients on proper usage
Knowledge of safety, infection control, and quality care protocols
Familiarity with community healthcare resources and specialty referral processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a care team
Capable of supervising, advising, and mentoring clinical staff or medical students
Competent in developing and delivering educational workshops or health programs

Qualifications Minimum Job Requirements: Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non‑pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to supervise, advice, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
