The Business Operations team helps guide and articulate technology strategy and research and is responsible for driving the day‑to‑day operation of the Product & Technology organization, including project and portfolio management and tracking; organization‑level capital, space, and resource management and allocation; process management; technical incident management; and administrative and workplace experience support.

The Technology Enablement Alliance (TEA) is an organization within Product & Technology that provides a platform dedicated to managing distributed systems to meet organizational and product scale requirements, offering a comprehensive suite of products to conceive, construct, and efficiently manage distributed system workloads.

Data Stores is a department within TEA focused on developing tools for constructing and operating data stores, and providing operational support for data stores.

TEA engineering teams operate within a hybrid delivery framework using principles from Agile and Kanban. Our TPMs work hand in hand with their engineering teams to define delivery methods and team processes customized for each team.

Responsibilities: A Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) within TEA reports to the PMO while partnering with the engineering manager. Our TPMs play a critical role in structuring and executing impactful cross‑org initiatives, refining delivery processes, and building community and engagement within our talented group of engineers. TPMs have a high degree of technical literacy and a desire to learn more across teams and divisions.

You should bring a passion for coaching, collaboration, and team building to help evolve and optimize process and product delivery.

You will also:

Enhance stakeholder relationships, understanding, and dialogue.

Enhance team throughput by removing roadblocks and leveraging organizational resources while helping teams toward commitments.

Foster cross‑team coordination and communication.

Assist with estimation and planning of team resourcing in conjunction with engineering team manager.

Identify, maintain, and visualize metrics to guide the project lifecycle.

Lead agile ceremonies for one to two teams of engineers.

Develop fundamental technical understanding of the tools and services vended by your team.

Qualifications:

5+ years of track record creating and growing trusting, lasting professional relationships with diverse stakeholders, maturing team’s current engagements, and advocating for future work.

Demonstrable experience managing technical projects in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, developing and executing project plans and delivery commitments.

Deep rooted passion and proven track record building motivated and collaborative teams.

Detail oriented and excellent communication skills; ability to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation.

Experience working with distributed teams and/or distributed organizations.

Working understanding of AWS and cloud‑based development and a desire to know more.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to modern DevOps and SRE practices around CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Availability, etc.

Experience as a software engineer, including exposure to Java or Scala.

Basic understanding of RDBMS, automated testing, and working with distributed systems.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $129,300 to $173,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
