Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director to lead our organization's safety initiatives and ensure compliance with occupational health regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs that promote a culture of safety within the workplace. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of safety regulations, and the ability to conduct thorough training and development sessions.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and EHS standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead investigations into workplace incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Oversee workers' compensation claims management and ensure adherence to workers' compensation law.
Provide training development for employees on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response protocols.
Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics and present findings to management.
Collaborate with various departments to promote a proactive approach to occupational health and safety.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to workplace safety.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in a safety management role with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and EHS principles.
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of workers' compensation processes and laws is essential.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is recommended; additional certifications in safety management are a plus.
Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies.
Ability to develop engaging training programs that enhance employee knowledge of safety practices.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence others towards a culture of safety.
