Overview Come join department 604 as a Network Administrator! Electric Boat is vastly enhancing its workforce and now is your time to take part of our growing submarine industry. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our network infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to support and maintain network systems.

Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

1+ years in networking engineering, systems engineering, or network security engineering or cloud network engineering

Hands‑on experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and network monitoring tools

Preferred:

Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing/switching.

Familiarity with network security best practices and tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.).

Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Juniper JNCIA.

Experience with cloud networking, SDN, or similar technologies

Hands‑on experience with load balancing and traffic management technologies.

Skills

Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Experience with network automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Knowledge of software‑defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization.

Familiarity with WAN optimization and network performance tuning tools.

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).

Understanding of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.

Familiarity with network security tools such as VPN, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection.

Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with version control systems like Git for infrastructure as code (IaC).
