Job Overview
We’re hiring an
SMT NPI Engineer
to lead new product introduction activities from prototype through production release. Reporting to the
Manufacturing Engineering Manager , you will be hands‑on with SMT processes, equipment programming, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver high‑quality, reliable products on time.
Responsibilities
Lead SMT NPI activities from prototype through production release ensuring seamless handoff to manufacturing.
Drive DFM reviews of PCBA layouts, BOMs, and processes to optimize manufacturability and cost.
Develop robust process flows, stencils, tooling, and fixturing for new products.
Coordinate prototype builds with a focus on quality, material traceability, and on‑time delivery.
Program SMT equipment for NPI/prototype runs and provide lessons‑learned documentation.
Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and partner with Maintenance to ensure reliability.
Qualifications Required
10 years of experience in SMT manufacturing (print placement, reflow, AOI, ICT).
Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience (10 years).
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Proven DFM experience with PCBA layouts, BOMs, and processes.
Preferred
5 years of NPI Engineering experience.
Experience supporting customer and third‑party audits.
Strong communication skills for presenting technical updates to management and cross‑functional teams.
