Human Engineer Location:

Everett, WA We are seeking a Human Engineer to join our Human Engineering team working on the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers portfolio.

The position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

Apply Human Engineering knowledge and principles to the analysis, design, and evaluation of complex systems.

Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional and program interfaces for all system operators.

Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of complex systems.

Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes.

Apply knowledge of military standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑1472, MIL‑STD‑1474, MIL‑STD‑1787, MIL‑STD‑3009, MIL‑STD‑411F) to meet program requirements.

Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design, development, and production.

Conduct user engagement activities throughout the design process via interviews, focus groups, field studies, etc.

Occasional business travel and after‑hours support may be required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cognitive Psychology, or another Human Engineering related field. (Level 3 – Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience or Master’s and 3 years)

3 years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Certification from the Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education.

Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process.

Knowledge of military standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑1472, MIL‑STD‑1474, MIL‑STD‑2525, MIL‑STD‑1787, MIL‑STD‑3009, MIL‑STD‑411F, DoDI 5000.95, and JSSG‑2010).

Ability to derive Human Engineering requirements.

Experience supporting defense programs.

Experience in program documentation of the HE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g., Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document, Operator Human Engineering Design Approach Document, Maintainer Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, etc.).

Experience with user interface software prototyping tools.

Experience with usability software.

Knowledge in human perception and cognition.

Experience with human performance modeling.

Experience in workload assessments and situation awareness assessments such as NASA TLX.

Experience in conducting task analyses and mapping user workflow.

Ability to evaluate designs against Human Readiness Levels (HRLs).

Experience in Agile Development.

Previous experience developing style guides and implementing UI design tenets.

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.

Security Clearance & Access The selected candidate must obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and is required to be a U.S. citizen.

Final Post‑Start clearance is required.

The position also requires the ability to obtain special program access, which also requires U.S. citizenship.

Relocation Relocation assistance will be offered based on candidate eligibility.

Compensation & Benefits Summary pay range (Level 3): $119,850 – $162,150.

Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.
