Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Compounding Inventory Assistant to support day‑to‑day inventory operations within our 503A compounding pharmacy. This role assists the Compounding Inventory Coordinator by receiving, labeling, organizing, and maintaining inventory of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), excipients, and compounding supplies to ensure smooth pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Support
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels of APIs, excipients, bases, and compounding supplies.
Organize and restock inventory in designated storage areas following established procedures.
Pull and stage ingredients and supplies for daily compounding activities as directed.
Perform routine cycle counts and report discrepancies.
Receiving & Labeling
Receive incoming inventory and verify items against packing slips or purchase orders.
Label materials with internal tracking information, including lot numbers and expiry dates.
File or upload Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as instructed.
Store materials under proper environmental conditions (refrigerated, room temperature, hazardous storage).
Compliance & Organization
Follow USP 795, 800, and pharmacy policies for handling and storing materials.
Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled storage areas.
Identify and report expired, damaged, or quarantined products promptly.
Support compliance during internal audits, inspections, and inventory reviews.
Operational Assistance
Communicate inventory needs, low stock items, or issues to the Inventory Coordinator.
Assist pharmacists and compounders by ensuring materials are readily available.
Perform general inventory‑related tasks as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (required).
Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, pharmacy, or healthcare setting preferred.
Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to obtain one is required.
Basic familiarity with inventory systems or spreadsheets preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow written procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Dependable and able to work independently with supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
Basic computer skills (inventory software, Excel, or similar tools).
Clear verbal communication and willingness to ask questions.
Employment Details
Full‑time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
100% onsite role; remote or hybrid work not available.
Hourly rate will vary based on experience: $19 USD–$21 USD.
