Job Description The Insurance Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining the initial and continuing authorizations. This position works with the Central Authorization Coordinator to ensure all patient services are verified and authorized.
Responsibilities
Obtain initial insurance authorization on all new referrals that require pre‑authorization.
Develop a positive rapport with staff members, payor representatives, and community resources.
Participate in the provision or receipt of home care and hospice services.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Central Authorization Coordinator or Billing Manager.
Qualifications
Medical office and/or home health care experience (preferred).
Insurance authorizations experience.
Customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above average communicator.
Organized and able to multi‑task.
Able to read, write and maintain records in English.
Experience
Insurance verification: 1 year (preferred).
Medical billing: 1 year (preferred).
Work Location In person.
Job Type Full‑time.
