Staffing Coordinator – Job Summary This individual coordinates and supervises all staffing operations for the nursing department, including the development and implementation of system monitoring and evaluation of staffing activities. Responsible for managing timekeeping and payroll activities; responsible for scheduling training for staff; participates in the interview process and provides administrative support.

Key Competencies

Schedule Management: Creating and maintaining staff schedules, considering vacations, leaves, and holidays to cover all shifts.

Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of staff working hours, absences, and other relevant data.

Recruitment Assistance: Assisting with the recruitment and orientation of new staff members.

Crisis Management: Responding to unexpected staffing shortages and emergencies by arranging replacement staff.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple schedules and keep detailed records.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all staffing requirements are met accurately and efficiently.

Problem‑Solving Skills: Quickly addressing and resolving scheduling conflicts and staffing shortfalls.

Time Management: Prioritizing tasks to meet the dynamic demands of hospital staffing.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduation or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Five years of administrative level experience in a psychiatric or healthcare hospital setting. Experience as a Staffing Coordinator is a plus. Experience handling timekeeping or payroll is a plus.
