Opportunity Regional Human Resources Business Partners serve on the front line of Family Dollar’s retail operations, directly supporting Regional Leaders, District Managers, and store‑level teams. This role is ideal for an HR professional who understands the pace, complexity, and realities of
multi‑unit retail environments
and thrives in a highly visible, field‑based partnership role.
As an HR Business Partner, you will support a large, dynamic retail region consisting of
232 stores across Upper Michigan and parts of Wisconsin , working closely with
14 District Leaders
and their teams. You will become fully embedded in the business, partnering with field leadership to understand store‑level challenges and translate them into practical, people‑focused HR strategies that drive engagement, performance, retention, and operational excellence.
This role requires a
strong retail mindset , someone who is comfortable in stores, understands store operations, and can influence leaders in real‑time while balancing both strategic initiatives and hands‑on HR execution.
What You’ll Do
Partner closely with Regional Directors and District Managers to drive HR strategies that support store performance and operational goals
Coach and advise leaders on team member relations, engagement, retention, performance management, compensation, and development
Translate business challenges into actionable HR solutions that support leadership effectiveness, change management, and organizational health
Lead and support performance management processes, ensuring consistency and accountability across the field
Analyze data, trends, and metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas within the region
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement programs tailored to field and retail needs
Maintain expert knowledge of federal and state employment laws and ensure consistent compliance across all locations
Conduct exit interviews and convert feedback into actionable retention and engagement strategies
Facilitate leadership development sessions, engagement forums, and team‑building initiatives in partnership with Regional Training teams
Support succession planning and talent development for key field leadership roles
Represent HR on cross‑functional projects and retail‑focused initiatives

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or equivalent experience
3–5 years of progressive HR experience , preferably supporting
field retail operations
Prior operational leadership experience in retail combined with field HR experience is strongly preferred
Experience supporting distributed teams, store leaders, and multi‑location environments
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Experience supporting organizational change initiatives is a plus

Strong presence and credibility with retail field leadership
Ability to balance hands‑on HR support with strategic business partnership
Excellent communication and presentation skills (in‑person and virtual, including Teams)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into action
Proven ability to influence without authority in a fast‑paced environment
High adaptability, flexibility, and comfort working through constant change
