The
Trainer/Facilitator
is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs and workshops to support the professional development of staff, volunteers, or community members. This role involves developing curricula, facilitating engaging and interactive sessions, and assessing the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure alignment with the nonprofit's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design and Development:
Design and develop training programs and materials that address the needs and objectives of the organization.
Create engaging content, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities, tailored to diverse audiences.
Facilitation:
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and seminars in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
Use a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and ensure participant engagement.
Pre/Post Participant Assessments:
Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and gaps.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
Conduct post assessment to determine the outcome and gaps closed from training program.
Evaluation and Feedback:
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
Analyze results and make recommendations for improvements to enhance training outcomes.
Content Delivery:
Deliver training sessions both in-person and virtually, depending on organizational needs.
Provide follow-up support and resources to participants to reinforce learning and application.
Resource Management:
Maintain and update training materials and resources to ensure they are current and relevant.
Manage training logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment setup.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, teams, and external partners to coordinate training efforts and share best practices.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Professional Development:
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new training methodologies.
Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance training skills and knowledge.
Reporting:
Prepare and present reports on training activities, outcomes, and participant feedback.
Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and evaluations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field; equivalent experience considered. Master’s Degree Preferred.
2 years of experience in training, facilitation, or instructional design, preferably within a nonprofit or similar environment.
Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs and workshops.
Ability to connect and use network to help lead each candidate to job placement.
Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
Experience with young adult/adult learning principles and instructional design.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to assess training needs and measure the impact of training programs.
Proficiency in using various training technologies and tools, including virtual platforms.
Commitment to the nonprofit’s mission and values.
Working Conditions
Environment: Office setting with frequent travel to program sites and partner locations. Some remote work may be possible.
Hours: Full-time, with occasional evenings and weekends required based on program needs and events.
